Livelihood Improvements Community Organization (LICO)
The community impact of the Livelihood Improvement Community Organization (LICO) has a positive impact on the participants of the programs as well as the community as a whole and the taxpayer. A quote from a past participant of the self-empowerment workshop, “Most of the programs teach you how to cope, the SLIP workshop teaches you how to live.”
LICO was created because “strong individuals equal strong communities”. LICO is geared towards the marginalized – “no one is to be left behind” LICO was established to make sure that all the resources that are out there are made available to those that may not know or have access to these resources. We are connectors – we connect our clients to community partners. Supports also include therapy, coaching, and mentoring.
Our motto is “Building Your Capacity – One Brick at a Time.”
We work with both youth and adults to assist them in understanding themselves and what they bring to the world’s table.
